Do You Qualify?

It is easy to qualify for the Eat Smart! program. In fact, you may already be meeting the standards by providing your patrons with healthier food choices and a healthy eating environment. There are three basic standards that you must meet to join the Eat Smart! program and take advantage of its many benefits.

  • NUTRITION
Your establishment must provide a variety of healthy food choices on its menu as outlined by the Nutrition Standard. As well, you must be able to satisfy customer requests for healthier food substitutions.
  • FOOD SAFETY
Your establishment must have an excellent track record of inspection reports with Public Health for at least 12 months, as well as have at least one full-time kitchen employee certified in safe food handling.
  • 100% SMOKE FREE ENVIRONMENT
Your establishment must be in compliance with the Smoke-Free Ontario Act (2005) and not sell any tobacco or tobacco products.
